Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury said the kit, jointly developed by a team from Singapore and Gonoshasthaya-RNA Biotech Limited, comes to reduce testing kit scarcity in Bangladesh. RT-PCR confirms by sequencing nasopharyngeal swab or sputum sample, taking few hours to two days time to publish the result. The new kit can detect coronavirus within 10-15 minutes and indicates the need to undergo RT-PCR or antibody assays testing, Nihad added. A total of 10 people have been infected with coronavirus in Bangladesh till date, of whom three have already recovered.
