Mukabbir faxed a letter wishing to be sworn in on Apr 2 or Apr 3, Secretary of Parliament Secretariat Zafar Ahmed said on Monday. In the Dec 30 polls, Mukabbir was elected from the Sylhet-2 seat on the ticket of the Jatiya Oikya Front. The other MP-elect of the Gono Forum, Sultan Muhammed Mansur Ahmed from Moulvibazar-2, remained firm on his decision on taking oath. He took his oath of office in parliament in defiance of the coalition decision against it. Mansur contested the Dec 30 polls from Moulvibazar-2 and won the seat under the ‘paddy sheaf’ symbol.
