While golfers had hoped that despite the new measures golf courses could remain open due to the wide open spaces, in a statement from the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Irish Ladies Golf Union, it was confirmed that courses will now close until April 19. "While golf is an outdoor sport that allows players to exercise in the fresh air, the message is clear. Despite courses being closed to golfers, greenkeeping staff can still work provided they adhere to government guidelines on social distancing.
