Goldin Financial to raise HK$8.7b to pay off debts


Shares in Goldin Financial (0530) slumped by 19.84 percent at HK$1.01 as of 2:30 pm after it resumed trading today. The company is seeking to raise HK$8.7 billion to settle certain debts of its subsidiaries and plans to sell a land in Kai Tak. The company and its direct and indirect subsidiaries have received several notifications respectively, concerning certain debts owed by Smart Edge, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, and Cheng Mei Holdings and Goal Eagle. Goldin Financial has been in discussions with the security trustee and the agent on the repayment proposal for the debts, it said. 6591 at Kai Tak Area 4B site 4, Kai Tak in Kowloon.
