Glanmire, Inniscarra, Cork Airport, Monard and Hop Island still up for grabs in boundary debate

Glanmire, Inniscarra, Cork Airport, Monard and Hop Island still up for grabs in boundary debateTHE boundary map drawn up by the Implementation Oversight Group (IOG) for the city’s proposed extension is still not final with five areas not clarified as being part of the final recommendation to the Local Government Minister. Glanmire, Inniscarra, Cork Airport, Monard and Hop Island are still “in contention” and discussions are still taking place on whether these areas will be subsumed into the city. Councillor Bob Ryan (FF) said: “Different maps were given to Cork city and county councils. “It’s the decision of the Implementation Group,” she said. When asked by Councillor Timmy Collins (IND) if the boundary extension deal had been totally agreed by councillors from both city and county councils, Deputy Mayor Ian Doyle said it had not.
