more-inAn 11-year-old girl was killed on the spot when a biker from Bengaluru heading towards Nandi Hills ran over her on the outskirts of Devanahalli on Sunday. Anju, a resident of Avathi village, was returning home after fetching drinking water from a tap, when the accident took place. Agitated villagers caught Nikesh, tied him to a pole and thrashed him, before handing him over to the police. Traffic movement on the national highway was disrupted for over an hour, as villagers blocked vehicular movement in protest against the girl’s death. After ramming into the goods vehicle, the bus ploughed into three people standing on the pavement.
