more-inTwo auto lifters were arrested on Saturday from Kalkaji Mandir area following a tip-off, the Delhi Police said on Sunday. The police claim to have solved 17 cases of motor vehicle thefts and recovered 22 motorcycles from the accused. Auto-rickshaw planManmeet (25) and Sumit (18) allegedly took just one minute to break the lock and steal a bike, the police said. The accused targeted motorcycles and scooters parked in isolated areas, and watched the vehicles for a while before stealing them. Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Chinmoy Biswal said, “Manmeet and Sumit had plans to steal at least one bike daily and were almost successful before they were nabbed by the police.”
