more-inLaw enforcers in the Central region have launched a publicity blitz to spread awarness of ‘Kavalan App’. The aim is to encourage the general public to use the app to seek police assistance whenever they feel threatened or vulnerable. Instructions have been given to Superintendents of Police of eight districts falling under the region to take the message about the app and its usefulness to the masses. Kavalan App was launched by the State police in June as an important step towards ensuring women’s safety through instant police assistance in emergencies such as eve-teasing and kidnap. Law enforcers have also planned to rope in self help groups and officials of the Social Welfare Department for the purpose.
