Get ready for the coldest weeks of the year, Toronto

Torontonians will finally see some winter weather as January wraps up and February begins. The cold conditions that arrived this past week are expected to continue at least until Saturday, according to an Environment Canada forecast. Sunday night will be chilly with a low of -9 C predicted. Monday’s temperature will dip down to -3 C during the day and -5 C during the night, before rising slightly to -1 C for Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday and Wednesday we will also get some flurries, resulting in an accumulation of about 2 to 5 centimetres — “enough to turn the ground white” and possibly affect Wednesday’s morning commute, said Rob Kuhn, a meteorologist at Environment Canada.
