Live music is returning, slowly but surely. New trade associations representing live music, independent venues, promoters and musicians have launched since March 2020. The pandemic has demonstrated a life without live music, festivals and venues. The return of live music is welcome, but many policies that governed music prior to March 2020, when live music was taken for granted, were not fit for purpose. Such a spotlight can bring needed reform, and with it, more live music, more cohesion and better places.
