At sentencing on Tuesday morning, police told the court the crash victim had been in a coma, from which medical staff had tried to awaken him. However, the victim had not responded well and at the time of sentencing the victim remained in a coma. An MRI scan also showed black spots in the victim's brain, which were indicative of brain damage, police said. "He has perhaps ill-advisedly visited the hospital with the intention of visiting the victim, Black said.
