KUALA LUMPUR: George Kent (Malaysia) Bhd has received a letter of award (LOA) from the Public Works Department (JKR) to design and build a 150-bed hospital in Tanjung Karang, Selangor, for RM277.2mil. The company said the hospital is to be constructed on a 6.88 ha site facing the main trunk road between Tanjung Karang and Kuala Selangor. In a statement yesterday, George Kent said this is the third hospital that the group is building on a turnkey basis for the Health Ministry. It completed construction of phase one of the Kuala Lipis Hospital in 2012 and is now in the midst of constructing the second phase. George Kent said the contract would add to the current order book of specialist projects and in line with the groups strategy to actively bid for upcoming engineering construction projects.
