Credit: Berks & Bucks FA--Maidenhead United Juniors volunteer George Dartnell and Wargrave Women & Girls FC coach Jo Hawkins were among the many volunteers celebrating as the Berks & Bucks FA held its annual Grassroots Football Awards last week. In addition to the national England Football award categories, several local awards were handed out this year, enabling even more volunteers from the grassroots football community to be recognised for their contribution. The categories spanned from coach of the year to grounds team of the year to impact of football and outstanding contribution awards. George Dartnell of Maidenhead United Juniors took home the young volunteer of the year award, while Jo Hawkins picked up the coach of the year award (female pathway) for her work at Wargrave Women & Girls FC. Steph Clark, Football Communications Officer at Berks & Bucks FA said: “Events like the annual Grassroots Football Awards are always very special as they provide a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise, thank and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our dedicated volunteer workforce.
