General Motors' largest employee union says it's making progress in its discussions to hammer out a new collective agreement for 3,900 Canadian workers. "The Unifor bargaining team continues to meet with GM and meetings will occur throughout the day," the union said in a statement Monday morning. Assembly line workers at the General Motors Assembly plant in Oshawa work on cars. All in all, Unifor represents roughly 23,000 Canadian auto workers. The union identified GM as the target for its talks, in the hopes that any agreement there could be used as a benchmark with other automakers.
