PETALING JAYA: Children are more susceptible to foods exposed to pesticides and chemical residues compared to adults, said healthy food expert Clarissa Chong. “Across children’s developmental phases, they are more prone to absorb chemical residues in food,” she said. To ensure the physical wellbeing of children, Chong said, it was important to be particular about the food they consumed. He said a parent’s physical, mental and emotional state during the prenatal period highly impacts a child’s behaviour later on. “If parents want their child to be successful, they have to address the traits that are hindering that success,” she said.
