The convict is Faruk Mia, a resident of Kalidaskhali village under Bagha Upazila in Rajshahi. Faruk resided as a tenant at Shahjahan alias Saju’s home in the district’s Mogarkhal area, according to the case dossier. After a dispute over several issues, Shahjahan told him to leave the house. Faruk used to threaten Shahjahan over the phone. As a sequel to the incident, Faruk stormed Shahjahan’s house and attacked his daughter Sadia Akhter with a knife.
