Gazipur city polls mayoral candidate Hasan Uddin Sarkar has appealed against the High Court order which stayed the elections for three months. Hasan filed the appeal petition with the Appellate Division’s Chamber Judge Court on Monday. Confirming the matter, Hasan’s lawyer Ahsanur Rahman said the court will hold the hearing regarding the petition in the afternoon. On Sunday, the High Court stayed the Gazipur city polls for three months after a writ petition was filed challenging the election. Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda had announced the election schedule for Gazipur and Khulna city corporations on March 31.
