Residents of Gataragunyi village in Ndarugu ward are positive about a proposed dam project. This will, however, see some of the residents relocated to pave way for the construction of the Rwabura dam. The dam is one of the two that will be constructed with the aim of supplying irrigation water to the residents. Talks will however go on between the National Irrigation Board who are in charge of the project and the residents until the project is complete. The dam project is part of the government pledges to have one million acres of land irrigated in the country as a way to ensure food security.
