MANILA, Philippines — Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Saturday urged the Department of Energy (DOE) to extend the prize freeze on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and kerosene products to June 30. Gatchalian added that oil companies raised LPG prices by more than P5 per kilogram on May 1. This adjustment, Gatchalian added, means a price increase of P56.98 up to P63.80 for a standard 11-kilogram LPG cylinder. In March, a prize freeze on LPG and kerosene products was imposed for 15 days, in compliance with Republic Act No. But Gatchalian urged to have the prize freeze extended, which was done until end of April.
