NewsFormer President Mahinda Rajapaksa's Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath and three others were granted bail today by the Permanent High-Court-at-Bar in the case involving alleged misappropriation of funds from Litro Gas. The three judge bench released each suspect on a cash bail of Rs.100,000 and two sureties of Rs.1 million each. Aside from Gamini Senarath, the other accused are former Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Managing Director Piyadasa Kudabalage, former Samurdhi Commissioner Neil Bandara Hapuwinna and Lasantha Bandara. This is the first case taken up for hearing by the Special High Court, which was officially declared open on Tuesday (21). The three-judge bench of the Special High Court comprises High Court Judges Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne and Champa Janaki Rajaratne.
