GMs stand pat on offside rule, interference, concussion spotters and more — but just wait until the playoffs


BOCA RATON, Fla. — They talked about changing the blue line, reviewed what does and does not constitute goaltender interference, and evaluated the impact of the bye week. They looked at the success rate of concussion spotters and goalie equipment. Some GMs wanted to change the rule to include the plane of the blue line, which could result in fewer goals being called back. One of the arguments made was the players might just change their point of emphasis to inside the blue line. “It basically showed the signs (that concussion spotters are using to determine a concussion) are the right signs,” said Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli.
