Fuses are blowing in Northern Taiwan

Unplanned power outages have been reported in Northern Taiwan, most recently this morning at an Executive Yuan office building in New Taipei City. The power went out for five minutes at the Executive Yuan's Xin Zhuang United Office Building at 11:09 a.m. on Tuesday. Taipower said that the outages were caused by a feeder cable fault in Huilong, which was repaired by 10:55 p.m. The Executive Yuan had ordered that air conditioning be switched off from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at government units to reduce power use during peak periods. On Tuesday, spokesman Hsu Kuo-yung (徐國勇) said the Executive Yuan planned to lift the order on Sunday.
