Funerals to have unlimited number of people from Monday as 30-mourner limit is axed

One of the key changes that will be made on May 17 - next Monday - are regarding funerals. The 30-mourner limit is to be axed completely, allowing any number of mourners to gather so long as they do so in line with the venue's Covid-safe capacity and with social distancing in place. Tight controls on numbers allowed to attend funerals during the pandemic has intensified the misery of millions of Brits who have lost loved ones. People will also be allowed to meet indoors in groups of up to six or a maximum of two households or bubbles, whichever is larger. Theatres, concert halls, conference halls and sports stadia can open to larger events, with capacity limits, while organised adult sport and exercise classes will be allowed indoors.
