A research centre in Marlborough is to match its Government loan to build a new wine centre with help from a bank loan underwritten by the council. The Marlborough Research Centre received $3.79 million through the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) on Friday to build Te Whare ā Waina Aotearoa/the New Zealand Wine Centre. The research centre will put $3.79m towards the centre, with $2.8m coming from a bank loan. Councillors discussed a report on the Marlborough Research Centre’s finance options prior to the Provincial Growth Funding announcement at last week’s planning and finance committee meeting.
