Mainuddin Manu, 44, son of Ahmed Patwary of the area, was killed in the “gunfight” in Char Kadira union around 2am on Thursday. Manu had been absconding after being convicted to life imprisonment in a case, police sources said. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the robbers fled the scene leaving Manu’s body behind. Police also seized a pipe-gun and two rounds of bullet from the spot, he added.
