Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the fugitive as Xie Haojie, 49, who was apprehended last Sunday in his unit at the Shell Residences condominium building along Sunrise Drive in Pasay City by the BI Fugitive Search Unit for economic crimes and corruption. Morente, in a press briefing on Wednesday, said Xie would be “immediately deported” to China so he could face his crimes. Xie, Morente said, has been tagged as an “undocumented alien” since his passport had been revoked by the Chinese government. The fugitive has a standing warrant of arrest and his case is ongoing, according to La Yifan, director of the CCDI.
