Soren said that they sat with Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader twice, since the attack. According to Saoren, Obaidul assured them of rehabilitation of the affected Santals, rebuilding their damaged houses, and other structures, and treatments to the injured. But, they cannot be given ownership of the sugar mill land, he further added. Soren said they would go for a legal fight at court for ownership of the Santal land. A footage, exclusively obtained by the Dhaka Tribune, showed that some policemen were even involved in torching Santal homes.
