Friday marks one year anniversary of Flight 752 being shot down in Iran

Family, friends and all of Canada is remembering the victims of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752, the plane that was shot down and crashed in Iran. Although Iran has admitted they shot down the plane with a surface-to-air missile, the investigation still continues. The federal government has since declared each January 8 to be the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Air Disasters. Of the 176 innocent people who died on Ukraine International Flight 752, 138 had ties to Canada. And, to pay tribute to the students, teachers, and all those who had ties to schools across the country, we are also establishing scholarships in memory of those on Flight 752.
