Graeme Souness has issued a fresh update about his former Scotland and Liverpool team-mate Alan Hansen. The Reds confirmed earlier this month that Hansen is “seriously ill in hospital.” Hansen made 614 appearances for Liverpool during a 14-year spell at Anfield between 1977 and 1991 and helped the club win eight top-flight titles. After retiring from the sport he then worked as a pundit on Match of the Day for 22 years before leaving the BBC in 2014. Anyone who's met Alan Hansen, he has a wicked sense of humour so I've had two conversations with him in the last five, six days.
