Photo : BSSNAOGAON, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - Distribution of free seeds and fertilizers among small and marginal farmers was launched under a government programme in Atrai upazila of the district to boost crop production. Talukdar said the present government is farmer-friendly and is providing incentives to reduce production costs and ensure continued food production. According to the upazila agriculture office, under the programme, 50 farmers received jute seeds and fertilizers, 30 farmers received sesame seeds and fertilizers, and 20 farmers received mung bean seeds and fertilizers. As the largest part of the programme, 3,000 farmers received seeds and fertilizers for cultivating high-yielding Aus paddy.
