One Shamim Khan, a resident of Gazipur’s Tongi, filed the case with the Tongi West police on Thursday, said Officer-in-Charge Shah Alam. “We are investigating the fraud allegation,” the police officer told Dhaka Tribune. After waiting for a month past the due date, Dhamaka issued two cheques as refund, but they bounced due to insufficient balance in the accounts, according to the case documents. Shamim contacted the Dhamaka offices and its CEO Sirajul Islam Rana over the purchases on August 5, when Rana responded with threats, OC Alam said citing case documents.
