Frank Ocean treated fans to a Valentine’s Day gift as he released a cover of 1961 classic Moon River. His reinterpretation of the song – which was performed by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany’s – was posted to YouTube on Thursday but the video features a 2/14 stamp. The cover features a sparse guitar with a patchwork of layered vocals and delighted a number of fellow musicians including Lily Allen and Paramore’s Hayley Williams. Fans of the US musician also enjoyed the sombre cover with one labelling it a “brazen move”. @AyoCaesar wrote: “Dropping this absolute heart-lenger on Valentine’s Day was such a brazen move by Frank Ocean,” adding: “Why are you making me weep in an airport Frank”.
