Israel’s current coalition government is filled with ministers who are openly hostile to the two-state solution, including some leaders who want to annex 60 percent of the West Bank. “When you are president of the United States, … you can’t have such an entrenched, unilateral position,” he told France TV 3. He said again that peace can be attained only through direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
