ETtechFoxconn aims to manufacture mechanical and precision machinery, electric vehicles, ICs (integrated chips) design and semiconductor segments in India. Last year, ET reported that Foxtron — Foxconn’s EV venture — may consider manufacturing in India. Foxconn in JV with Vedanta is making a foray into the semiconductor business. JV proposes a $13.6 billion chip manufacturing plant. It has sought $5.6 billion in support from the Centre under Rs 76,000 crore Semicon India Programme.
