One person is dead and another injured after a 4WD crashed in Macetown, about 15 kilometres from Arrowtown in Otago. A person has died and another received minor injuries after a four-wheel-drive crashed in Macetown Valley, near Arrowtown in remote Central Otago. A police spokeswoman said the person died at the scene. A St John spokesman said the second person had minor injuries and was flown by helicopter to Lakes District Hospital in Queenstown. Information on the Department of Conservation website says the reserve is accessed by a 4WD track that crosses the river 23 times.
