A man with a sledgehammer purportedly targeted four mosques in Birmingham in a string of attacks which appear to have been linked. The damage is being linked to further attacks on mosques in Aston and Perry Barr, West Midlands Police said. A spokesperson for Witton Islamic Centre on Witton Road, Aston, said CCTV captures a man smashing windows at about 01:30. Unfortunately the Witton Road Islamic Centre was attacked overnight by an individual who used a sledgehammer to break the windows. Councillor Majid Mahmood tweeted a video of the clean-up taking place at the centre on Witton Road.
