State Highway 1 is blocked south of Mangaweka after a four-car crash. A crash involving four cars has closed State Highway 1 in the lower North Island near the small Rangitīkei town of Mangaweka. A police spokesperson said the crash occurred at 4.45pm on Sunday and two of the cars had rolled. The crash happened between Soldiers Rd and Mangarere Rd, just south of the town. The road is closed and police advised motorists to avoid the area.
