A citizen donates bloodNorth District Hospital has put four bags of blood plasma to waste after staff failed to put them into a freezer. Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service said four bags of plasma were found inside a box for transportation of blood products sent from the hospital. After preliminary investigation, the hospital found that the plasma was sent from Red Cross on September 8. The bags were left inside the transportation box, and was returned to Red Cross the following day. There is enough stock of plasma inside the hospital's blood bank, as it regularly receives fresh supplies from Red Cross.
