NEW DELHI: Former US President Barack Obama will be in New Delhi on December 1 to participate in a Town Hall organised by the Obama Foundation , to "expand the conversation about what it means to be an active citizen and make an impact. "In a statement, the foundation identified India as among the world's "most culturally, religiously, linguistically, and ethnically diverse nations. "Recognising the strength of the country's below-35 "engaged and passionate generation", it credited these citizens with "finding innovative ways to create positive change across India - change that benefits the world. ""President Obama believes that countries are strongest when we empower our young people - because ultimately, they're the ones who will shape our future," said Bernadette Meehan , Executive Director of International Programs at the foundation.The event in India comes after similar programmes were held in Germany, Indonesia, and Brazil, this year.
