Former Sen. Harry Reid Undergoes Surgery for Pancreatic Cancer

Former Sen. Harry Reid (D., Nev.) has undergone surgery to remove a tumor on his pancreas, his family said Monday, and he will now start chemotherapy as part of his cancer treatment. His family said doctors at Johns Hopkins cancer center in Baltimore spotted the tumor “early,” during a routine screening, and that the “prognosis for his recovery is good.” The statement said Mr. Reid, 78, who was the Democratic leader in the Senate for more than a decade, is resting with his family and is in good spirits.
