Former President Mulatu Teshome Awarded National Medal of HonorNovember 5, 2018 - Former President of Ethiopia Mulatu Teshome was awarded Ethiopia's highest Medal of Honor at national palace yesterday. In attendance were Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, senior government officials, former Presidents Girma Woldegiorgis and Dr. Negasso Gidada, and member of opposition political parties and diplomats. Marking the event, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said the event is organized to bestow recognition for the remarkable achievements of leaders. Speaking on the occasion, former president Mulatu Teshome said the farewell ceremony is what the country has been yearning for. The Ethiopian government also bestowed the highest national honor of medal to former president of Federal Supreme court, Dagne Melaku.
