Former Deputy Governor of Kano state, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, has finally defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party. Abubakar announced the decision while addressing a news conference in Kano on Tuesday. He said he would continue to be loyal and support former governor of the state, Sen Rabi’u Kwankwaso. Asked if he intends to the Kano gubernatorial race, Abubakar said he would let the people know when the time comes. “For now, I cannot tell you whether I will vie for the governorship position, only time will tell.“NAN reports that Abubakar had before he resigned as the Deputy Governor, petitioned the police and DSS over alleged threat to his life and plans to impeach him.
