Ford offers 2 grants worth $15,000 for environmental projects - Daily News Egypt

Ford Motor Company handed over two financial grants worth $15,000 to support two environmental projects in Egypt: the environmental education project in Giza and the project working with the fishermen of South Sinai to preserve coral reefs. The non-governmental organisation Toraseyat had submitted its project within the environmental education category, with a focus on air and water pollution in Egypt’s Giza area. Director general of Ford in North Africa Bernat Szabo, deputy director of Ford in North Africa, Ashraf Bostany, and Auto Jameel’s regional director in North Africa, Tarek Abdul Latif, handed the grant to Hemmat Salah al-Din Ismail from Toraseyat. Apart from Egypt, the winning participants from Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia received their grants totaling $12,000 as part of Ford’s Conservation & Environmental Grants. Since its establishment in the Middle East and further expansion into North Africa, the programme provided grants worth $1.64m to more than 200 projects.
