Critics slam Ford for avoiding Pride parade, June 4Someone should tell the premier of Ontario that the LGBTQ+ community is part of his constituency, that we are “real people.” His nonsense about inclusion is false because he never did come to the parade as an official when the police were present. His comments about installing shower facilities for bicyclists in the parking garage of city hall (he alluded to bath houses) were homophobic. Interesting that while Ontario is “open for business,” Doug Ford wants the LGBTQ+ community to close the door on the closet. Someone ought to tell him that many within the LGBTQ+ community are business people and not just hairdressers and that Gay Pride month is good for Toronto business. Ford claims to be governing “for the people,” but he sees his “people” in a very restricted sense.
