For the third time in just three months, Wabush Airport faced disrupted service and that has Labrador MP Philip Earle saying enough is enough. In October, most of the Wabush Airport services shut down briefly because a federal agency changed the airport's designation so it requires firefighting services — services Transport Canada cut five years ago. Transport Canada says safety is priorityCBC News asked Transport Canada for an interview, and spokesperson Hicham Ayoun emailed a written response Friday evening. Ayoun said winter operations at the Wabush Airport are carried out with preparedness and safety in mind. Labrador MP Philip Earle says he was also impacted by the restrictions at Wabush Airport earlier this week.
