FoodStarter competition reveals latest Kiwi food trends

Newly identified New Zealand food trends are showing that increasingly what we eat and drink isn't just about sustenance, it's about discovering new ways to look after ourselves, our communities and the planet. Each year, food entrepreneurs from all over the country enter FoodStarter, a competition founded by New World and Ministry of Awesome, which aims to find New Zealand's most innovative food and beverage products. That means thinking about how we feed future generations and how we ensure the continuation of the high value, world-leading New Zealand food story." Morgan McCann, Head of New World – Foodstuffs North Island, a FoodStarter partner, says it was encouraging to see the classic Kiwi entrepreneurial spirit coming through in the competition. It's supported by founding partners New World and start-up hub Ministry of Awesome, alongside Foodstuffs South Island, Foodstuffs North Island, New Zealand Food Innovation Network, Christchurch NZ, Strategy Creative and Auckland Unlimited.
