"As we have attained sufficiency in food production, we are now looking for ways to provide our people with more nutritious food," Sadhan said on Thursday. He made the statement at the “National Level Discussion Meeting on Promoting Nutrition among Adolescents” held at the CIRDAP Auditorium in Dhaka, reports UNB. He said the government is concerned about food safety and ensuring a nutritious food supply for all citizens as it is necessary for sustainable development. “The government is taking measures to soon introduce fortified rice on the local market," he added.
