The load shedding—from 6am to 8pm on Wednesday—caused students of Ghatail Shaheed Salauddin Cantonment College and Ghatail GBG College to block the Shaheed Salauddin Cantonment intersection. The protesting students said load shedding has become a regular thing and occurs eight-to-ten times every day. The situation was brought under control after Ghatail Zonal Office of Mymensingh Palli Biddyut Samiti 1 turned the electricity on — following orders from the Ghatail upazila administration. Ghatail Zonal Office said the problem was due to lack of electricity and glitches in the supply line.
