The Edmonton Oil Kings are heading down the stretch of the official midway point of the WHL season, and it’s up head coach Brad Lauer and his staff to keep his players focused prior to the Christmas break. The Oil Kings have five games remaining before parting ways for the holidays. They’ll reconvene on Dec. 27 after playing their final game before the break on Dec. 14. “We have a young group of guys and some guys are away from home for the first time playing in the league. Now they know there’s a two-week break coming, and they are going home for Christmas and they’re excited.”The Oil Kings will play a home-and-home series with the Calgary Hitmen, starting on the road Friday.
