In 2011, as a high school senior, Pender was arrested by Cape Coral police after an altercation with his girlfriend. “The Athletics Department will have no further comment at this time.”Pender was the nation’s fourth-ranked high school running back in 2012 upon committing to FSU. The charges were later dropped by the state attorney’s office due to lack of evidence.
